Dear Friends, I am currently writing a book about casting. After 42 years as a casting director, this published work, “Bring Me A Star I Don’t Know,” will explore the character of people who stand up against tremendous adversity to reach their dreams, and it will help actors understand the casting process. It will include anecdotal stories of the show I have established the Eddie Foy III Foundation, which will help support accredited actors' workshops as well as university theater arts departments across the country. A percentage of proceeds from this book will be donated to the foundation to help talented actors receive the best possible training available without being financially burdened in the process. I am interested in stories that will help ACTORS appreciate the diverse treatment they will receive when starting out, as well as stories, reminding the professional working actor to keep focusing on the importance of the on-going process of developing as an actor and a purposeful human being. These personal experiences may shed light on one’s ability to get further into his or her understanding of how this EVER CHANGING business works and how a person deals with the illusory quest of running down their dream and making it real… If you are interested in being a part of this most important education, please send your letter in writing to me in the mail. My ultimate goal with this publication is three fold: 1) To give novice actors emotional confidence, which will be an excellent foundation for his or her future. 2) To give professional working actors emotional confidence to continue pursuing his or her career in a refreshed light. 3) To show people that their dreams can be realized if they pursue them with practical knowledge and to inspire all those who sacrifice much to find success.
